Rob Cohen

Rob is a practicing attorney, he serves as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Panel Trustee, and is a certified Mediator. Rob spends the majority of his time focusing on creditor and debtor representation in consumer and corporate bankruptcy. He has been appointed a Chapter 11 Trustee, Examiner, and Liquidating Agent. As of 2022 Rob has administered approximately 10,000 Chapter 7 bankruptcy estates and has been involved in hundreds of lawsuits, both bankruptcy and civil. He has experience in a range of legal areas including civil litigation, contract drafting/disputes, domestic relations, bankruptcy litigation, and real property. As an active lawyer in Denver, Rob continues to represent individuals and businesses in a range of matters in order to continually learn and gain practical experience so as to better manage the firm and represent his clients.

Interests

Rob is a voracious reader of historical fiction and fantasy. Podcasts about history (always looking for suggestions), current events, and technology seem to take more of his time than they should. Rob enjoys wilderness excursions with his wife, 3 children, and their 2 dogs. His hobbies are many and include reading, amateur electronics projects including fixing broken things around the house until they are either fixed or so hopelessly gone that there is no chance of salvage, family time, anything outdoors including fishing, skiing, mountain biking, hunting, and yard work (lots of yard work).

He was thorough and detail oriented, the review process was conversational rather than Rob running through a list of questions from a sheet of paper. "Bankruptcy is certainly not what one would describe as a “pleasant” event, but having a conscientious, experienced attorney can lessen the more unpleasant, and unexpected aspects of getting through it. I knew that Rob was asking questions and collecting the necessary materials and answering all the questions I had well in advance of the court date to appear before the Trustee. Once that date arrived, I was sitting in a courtroom where several other attorneys and clients were meeting prior to their Trustee meeting. I was amazed at the conversations I heard going on. These attorneys were asking questions that Rob and I had discussed much earlier in preparatory meetings. I’m not sure I would’ve had all my documentation and information at hand to answer these detailed questions thirty minutes before the hearing. When we were admitted into the courtroom where the Trustee heard the cases, I noticed he asked for further documentation to answer questions that weren’t satisfactorily addressed in the materials presented on several different cases. The respective attorneys would answer that the material would be provided in the next 2 weeks to 2 months. But, when we were finally called, the Trustee looked through the paperwork and asked us a couple of questions. He studied the paperwork a little more and that was it. Everyone’s case is unique and I imagine there are always going to be those requests for more information.
